Everyone should know, or learn about the legacy of Carole Robertson as they do with the stories of Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks. The purpose of this book is to assist in beginning the discussion about Carole Robertson’s legacy, and why she became an important part of the Civil Rights history at such a young age. The authors decided to make this a children’s storybook to teach younger children the importance of celebrating her life. Carole was an avid reader, a straight “A” student, a student of dance, a clarinet player, as well as, an active member in Girl Scouts and a child member of the Birmingham Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated. Carole had many goals, and with the help and guidance of both her parents, Alvin and Alpha, she was a talented, intelligent young woman. The book follows Carole for seven days, where we imagine what activities she may have enjoyed. The story takes place when she was ten years-old, prior to becoming a young icon in the Civil Rights Movement.
